Set amongst 70 acres of hills, meadows, orchards and woodland-lined streams, Lower House Farm is a rural Wedding Venue, Events Barn and family farm in the beautiful Black Mountains on the Welsh borders.
At the heart of the farm, our charming 17th Century oak-framed barn has been lovingly restored, a truly special venue for Weddings, Feasts and our regular Sunday Lunch. Nestled in the Olchon valley, and surrounded by the foothills of the Black Mountains, Lower House Farm is a place that you can come to escape the world outside and reconnect with nature.
Food and Drink are at the heart of everything we do at Lower House Farm. Our kitchen team is lead by Jake Townley, who trained at the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and who has worked in multiple Michelin Star and award winning kitchens.
The produce on our menus is almost all from right here on the farm and the surrounding area, cooked over the open flames of our outdoor, wood-fired kitchen. Grass-fed lamb and beef and free-range pork, all from our native breed animals. We source other ingredients from a range of local and organic producers, which are then prepared respectfully and served generously by our in-house team of chefs.
We are a first generation farming family, and we do things quite differently, farming with nature, slowly and traditionally but with a forward thinking attitude. Our native breed livestock live happily outdoors on our mature rich pasture, with minimal intervention and minimal impact on our environment, allowing for natural ecosystems and other wildlife on the farm to thrive. All of the produce from the farm either goes on our menus or in to Monthly Meat Boxes from the other part of the family business, Wild by Nature Meats.
